About this role
As a Design Assistant, you will work closely with the Head of Design and Service Designer to assist in activities ranging from ethnographic research, meaning-making, artifact design, marketing, social media, documentation, event planning and some facilitation of community teams.
The job will train you in essential Design Thinking principles and prepare you to think more critically and creatively on social challenges.
You will develop a human-centered leadership style that allows you to actively listen, collectively discern, and deliver actionable insights to client teams, communities, and the general public.
Storytelling and evidencing throughout the project is key. The chosen intern will have the opportunity to explore different storytelling techniques such as video, comic strips, and infographics. You will work across the whole organization, including the the client teams, neighborhood businesses and neighborhood organizations. You will draw on your experience and unique perspective to build new engagement models. You’ll help to document these models for others, learning as much as you are innovating and turning newly acquired knowledge into a replicable process for any dynamic environment. Being part of this ground-breaking initiative will challenge and stimulate you as you build your experience and skill-set.
